HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – University Heights Academy in Hopkinsville held a community gathering Sunday night to honor Hensley Hunt, a student who died Sept. 7 at the age of 12.
The school will also host funeral services at 2:00 p.m. on Sept. 11. There is no school in session that day. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery and visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at University Heights Academy. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
According to his obituary, Hensley was a native of Hopkinsville born Jan. 6, 2012, the son of Matt and Lindsay Hunt. He was a sixth-grade student at University Heights Academy who played baseball, basketball, and soccer at UHA and played travel baseball for the Western Kentucky Outlaws and the Hoptown Heat. He attended Edgewood Baptist Church and New Work Fellowship Youth Group.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to University Heights Academy for a scholarship in memory of Hensley Hunt.
