HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Former Pembroke Elementary custodian and Hopkinsville native, LaCagle Kendrick, passed away on Oct. 19 at the age of 59.

LaCagle, the son of the late Moses Thomas Kendrick, Sr. and Luvenia Watkins, was born on July 26, 1965, in Hopkinsville, KY.

LaCagle was employed as a custodian by Christian County Board of Education since the early 90s. He enjoyed basketball, football, sports betting and his grandkids. Christian County Public Schools announced his passing on Monday, saying he always offered to help in whatever way he could and carried the most genuine smile on his face. This week, grief counselors are onsite at Pembroke Elementary to support staff and students.

“We extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and many coworkers and students who had the pleasure of knowing ‘Cave’ over the years,” wrote CCPS.

A funeral service will held on Friday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. Visitation hours will be Oct. 24 from 4-6 p.m. at Gambler Funeral Home, 1311 S. Liberty Street.
