HOPKINSVILLE, KY – In response to the recent flooding that has impacted homes and structures across our community, Community and Development Services is offering support to help property owners begin the rebuilding process.

To assist residents with the next steps, the City of Hopkinsville will host three informational meetings in May 2025 to provide guidance on obtaining the necessary building and floodplain permits for repairing or reconstructing flood-damaged structures.

All meetings will take place at the Hopkinsville Municipal Building, Council Conference Room #137, on the following dates.

  • Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

City staff will be available to explain the permitting process, answer frequently asked questions, and ensure residents have the resources they need for safe and compliant rebuilding. To help ease the burden on those affected, all permit fees related to flood damage repairs have been waived.

All affected property owners and residents are strongly encouraged to attend one of the scheduled meetings. For more information, contact Peter Wood at pwood@comdev-services.com or 270-887-4285.
