HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 22-year-old male suspect was arrested early Monday morning in connection to a burglary and shooting at an apartment complex on Charlie Court.
The preliminary arrest report from Hopkinsville Police Department says the victim was visiting a friend at an apartment complex right after midnight on Sept. 15, when the suspect approached him in the living room and told him to hand over his gun. The victim gave up the handgun he had on him and attempted to leave the apartment, but the suspect blocked the door.
According to a statement given to HPD, the victim then maneuvered around the suspect, hearing several gunshots as he was running away.
Officers were able to locate the suspect and place him under arrest around 6 a.m. that same day. He is being charged with burglary in the first degree and drug possession.
