HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Hopkinsville Community College has received an $8,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation. These grant funds are designated to support scholarships for students enrolled in a CNC technology or CNC machining-based engineering program.
Six students enrolled in HCC’s computerized manufacturing and machining (CMM) program received a Gene Hass Scholarship for fall 2025. Those students are: Abby Allen, Hopkinsville; Tyler Coulter, Herndon; Mike Eaves, Hopkinsville; Keanu Galima, Allensville; Lance Johnson, Clarksville, Tn.; Anthony Salgado, Elkton.
The Gene Haas Foundation seeks to enhance manufacturing education and introduce young people to careers in industry. The Foundation plays a significant role in advancing technical education through several initiatives, including scholarship grants for CNC training, sponsorship of robotics team competitions where they design and manufacture the “product,” teacher training, Haas Technical Educators Conferences (HTEC), and Gene Haas Centers and Labs.
The Gene Haas Foundation donates millions annually to educational programs and community organizations. All grants are awarded exclusively to tax-exempt entities through an online application process. In 2024 alone, the Foundation distributed over $32 million in grants, bringing its total contributions since 1999 to more than $225 million.
