HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Although the temperature will rise to only 89 degrees this Fourth of July, humidity in the area will crank up the heat index. A heat advisory is in place between noon and 9 p.m. for Christian County.
The National Weather Service predicts the heat index may rise to 110 degrees, with a 60% chance of rain in the afternoon. Tonight, more showers and thunderstorms are possible, with another round of storms after 4 a.m.
Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation is prepping for their Red, White, & Oooh! Community Fireworks Show on Thursday night, with festivities kicking off at 7 p.m. Rachel Sanders with the department told Christian County Now this will be a rain or shine event as long as the conditions are not hazardous.
