HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The City of Hopkinsville and Community and Development Services (CDS) welcomed a local resident back home with the Hopkinsville Home Improvement Program on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
For the first time since 2020, the Hopkinsville Home Improvement Program – a collaboration between the city and CDS – assisted Charlene Northington with substantial rehabilitation of her residence, including the demolition of the deteriorated house and a newly constructed home, according to a release from the City of Hopkinsville.
On Tuesday, Hopkinsville mayor JR Knight and CDS Management Services Coordinator Laura Faulker, presented Northington with a Hopkinsville key chain and a welcome home sign.
This project was made possible by utilizing grant funds provided by the Kentucky Housing Corporation’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund, as well as Community Development Block grant dollars.
