HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hillcrest Baptist Church, located on Skyline Drive in Hopkinsville, shared an official statement on Aug. 20 announcing the dismissal of Next Generation Pastor Jeremiah Swaw.

The statement said that on the afternoon of Aug. 17, church leadership became aware that Swaw had turned himself into authorities. The Christian Country Jail confirmed that Swaw was booked on Aug. 17 and was bailed out the next day. His charge was listed as “any misdemeanor charge not covered by these codes” before his inmate listing was taken down after his release.

“Jeremiah has been terminated effective immediately,” said the statement from Hillcrest. “He is prohibited from having any contact with the young people in our church and from participating in church-sponsored activities.”

The church additionally disclosed that any alleged offence did not occur on church property. Christian County Now has reached out to relevant authorities for more information about the nature of his arrest.
