HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On Thursday afternoon, the City of Hopkinsville and its residents convened to honor the memory of Bill Flynn, renaming East 21 Street to Bill Flynn Boulevard. The ceremony had been postponed due to rain the previous week.
Bill Flynn, a local entrepreneur who established Flynn Enterprises in Hopkinsville in 1976, passed away on Aug. 30, 2021. The newly dedicated street sign stands proudly opposite the original Flynn Enterprises building.
What began as a solitary establishment flourished into an international corporation with multiple sites across western Kentucky. Despite his company’s expansion, Flynn stayed actively engaged in the Hopkinsville community, according to a city news release.
Mayor J.R Knight unveiled the new sign to the Flynn family who expressed gratitude for the honor and recognition. Knight shared that the impact of Bill Flynn extends beyond the business realm as he was a true philanthropist, dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals in the community.
