HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A single family home caught fire this morning in Hopkinsville on Buckley Drive. Hopkinsville Fire Department responded to the fire around 8:30 a.m. and saw smoke coming from the roof when they arrived.

Payton Rogers with HFD said the fuse panel box had ignited in the home, but firefighters were able to find the source of the fire quickly and extinguish it. The fire department was also able to ensure the fire didn’t spread into the attic space.

Although the fire was extinguished, the family who lives there is unable to return to the home due to lack of power, HFD said.
