HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Vansauwa’s Tacos and Vegan Eats in Hopkinsville made a significant donation to the local nonprofit Men 2 Be. This organization is dedicated to mentoring young men and promoting leadership, growth, and purpose.
The food truck set up at Paducah’s BBQ on the River Festival in September with the goal of raising money. During the festival they were able to raise just over $1,300 through food sales, which was given to Men 2 Be during one of their weekly meetings.
“We believe it’s important to invest in programs like Men 2 Be that are intentionally working to create better opportunities for our youth, specifically young Black boys,” said Zirconia Vansauwa. “The skills they’re learning through this program are foundational to helping them thrive, not only within our community but beyond it as well.”
The donated funds will help to support the nonprofit’s programming that empowers youth through mentorship and personal development, helping to nurture the next generation of leaders and changemakers.
The Vansauwa’s team shared moments of reflection and inspiration with the participants, highlighting that “words of encouragement create winners”.
