HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Marching band members with the Hopkinsville High School Band of Tigers earned top rankings during their first competition of the season at the Logan County Festival of Bands on Sept. 21.

They were named Grand Champion, receiving first place in Class AAA, Best Color Guard Class AAA, and Best Percussion Class AAA.

“Winning class 3A and being named Grand Champions at the Logan County Festival of Bands was huge for our students,” said Hopkinsville High School band director Grant Jones. “They have worked tirelessly since July to better themselves as musicians and performers. It is very rewarding for them to receive results like this that validate their hard work and dedication.”

He also told Christian County Now that although they have a lot of new members, they have all stepped up to the occasion and delivered a great performance. The band has three more competitions coming up through October and will host the Western Kentucky Tournament of Champions on Oct. 12 at Hopkinsville High School.
