HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Several calls were made to the Hopkinsville Police Department yesterday about a man entering people’s yards and attempting to get into their houses. The first call came from Coxmill Road, where they told police that a man in a blue shirt and black pants was in their backyard and was walking around outside neighbors’ homes.
A call from a few streets over came soon after. A report from Hopkinsville Police says the same man had entered their home and climbed on their dryer. The caller said the man was bleeding and ran out when he was seen.
The third call came from Tennessee Avenue where the same man was in their backyard attempting to break into their basement. When officers arrived on scene, the man fled.
According to police, a K-9 officer located the man on Cypress Street. The man fled and jumped a fence, but the K-9 officer was able to apprehend him.
The man was sent to Jennie Stuart Health and was treated for preexisting, infected dog bites he had received a few days prior after falsely entering someone’s property. He had an existing warrant to appear in court and was released with a new court date. He is facing burglary and feeling charges.
