HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A prolonged Internet Crimes Against Children investigation led to search warrant being executed at a residence on Powell Road on April 16.

In January 2025, the Hopkinsville Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations initiated an investigation into peer-to-peer file sharing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) through the BitTorrent network. It was determined that 46-year-old Christopher Knight had utilized BitTorrent/FrostWire to facilitate the upload and download of approximately 5,316 files that contained CSAM.

During the search of Knight’s residence on Wednesday, law enforcement found that he had FrostWire actively downloaded on his mobile device. Knight denied using it to download CSAM, according to an arrest report from HPD.

He was arrested and charged with seven counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12 years old. Additional criminal charges are pending.

This arrest was made possible through the collaboration of Hopkinsville Police Department Electronic Crimes Unit Detectives, KSP Electronic Crimes Branch Detectives, Homeland Security Investigations Special Agents, and Christian County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.
