HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Deputies from Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for kidnapping and other charges after a brief pursuit that started in Ashwood Village.
According to a report from CCSO, units were called for a disturbance at a residence on Jan. 2 where a male was physically holding down a female. When officers arrived, the suspect was driving away in his car with the victim. Deputies got behind the suspect’s vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.
The suspect refused to stop and began fleeing the scene leading deputies to the area of Greenville Road and East First Street. Deputies then initiated a Pursuit Intervention Technique to disable the vehicle.
According to the victim, the aggressor grabbed her in a bear hug and forced her into the vehicle after the physical altercation at the residence. The suspect also told her he didn’t plan on stopping for authorities.
The suspect was taken into custody and was charged with kidnapping, fourth-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and several traffic charges.
