HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – United Southern Bank in Hopkinsville has newly established the Brandon Oldham Memorial Scholarship which will award two Christian County student athletes with $1,000. As the application deadline approaches, students are encouraged to submit.

Oldham died on Sept. 28, 2025, in a motorcycle accident in Hopkinsville. At the time he was serving as the branch manager and loan officer at the local Canton Pike branch of United Southern Bank. After the accident, the public was quick to share the positive impact he had on the community.

The requirement for the scholarship dictates that the applicant must be a senior student athlete in the Christian County Public Schools district with a minimum GPA of 3.0. They must demonstrate integrity, perseverance and respect while successfully balancing academics and athletics and contributing positively to their school or community.

According to United Southern Bank, seniors must submit a completed application, a 500-word essay, a letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher or community leader speaking on athletic ability, teamwork, character, leadership and academic dedication.
