HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville-Christian County Museum will be discussing local history during their History on Tap: A Continuing Conversation on the History of Culture and Community in Hopkinsville. This program is free and open to the public. It’s held on the last Thursday of every month at Hopkinsville Brewing Company.
During the upcoming meetup on Nov. 30, local woman Paulette Nance Robinson will be discussing her experience growing up in Hopkinsville in the 1960s as a Black child. She will share stories and offer insight about living through segregation, and her experience with integration in schools.
A news release from the museum adds that local youth and community outreach pastor Kamarr Richee from Edgewood Baptist church will help lead the conversation. They will discuss how Robinson’s past experiences connect to current issues in the community. The discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Their final History on Tap for 2023 will be on Dec. 28. Museum staff and a local historian will reflect on Hopkinsville history in 1823, 1923, and 2023. Find more information about this program on the Museums of Hopkinsville-Christian County Facebook page.
