HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville woman was arrested at the hospital after assaulting two nurses and spitting on another staff member.

On Dec. 8 around 10 a.m., officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department were dispatched to Jennie Stuart Medical Center in reference to a disturbance. According to an arrest report, staff told officers that the 25-year-old female suspect came into the hospital with “seizure like activities” when she was assisted onto a stretcher to receive medical care.

When entering the exam room, staff said she became upset and ripped out the IV in her arm. She then began approaching one of the nurses and was placed into a hold. The suspect kicked the nurse in the chest and punched the other nurse in the chest. They both sustained minor injuries.

HPD says that the director of Jennie Stuart Health entered the room, and the suspect pulled his tie and spit on him. It was noted in the arrest report that the suspect was manifestly under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.

She was arrested and taken to the Christian County Jail and is being charged with assault in the third degree of a healthcare provider, and public intoxication.
