Hopkinsville, Oak Grove debates planned: Mayor, school board, city council, fiscal court

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Ahead of the November General Election, public candidate debates will be held in both Hopkinsville and Oak Grove as residents prepare to cast their votes for mayor and city council positions.

Residents will be able to attend these forums for a chance to hear directly from candidates, facilitated by the League of Women Voters in Hopkinsville. LWV is a nonpartisan, grassroots nonprofit dedicated to empowering voters to fully participate in American democracy through advocacy, education, litigation and more.

Questions during the debates are submitted by local residents and reviewed by a closed group to ensure relevance and are kept confidential prior to the debates. Candidates are able to bring a written opening and closing statement.

The following forum dates will take place to include mayoral candidates, potential magistrates, city councilmembers and school board. All forums will take place at the city council chambers at the Hopkinsville Municipal Building.

Oak Grove debates, candidates

The following candidate debates will take place at the Oak Grove Community Center Gymnasium in collaboration with the League of Women Voters. Residents will be able to attend these events for a chance to hear directly from candidates, ask questions and make an informed decision on Election Day.
