HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man in Hopkinsville is facing several drug trafficking charges after law enforcement found large amounts of meth, cocaine, spice and other narcotics at a residence.

On March 26, 2026, members of the Hopkinsville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit and Crime Suppression Unit conducted a search warrant at a residence on Cherry Street that resulted in the arrest of Larry Penman of Hopkinsville, according to a news release.

During the course of the search, HPD says authorities seized approximately 212 grams of Methamphetamine, 58 grams of crack cocaine, seven grams of Cocaine, approximately 4.5 pounds of synthetic cannabinoids known as spice, 52 grams of marijuana, and 63 assorted pills.

In addition to the narcotics, investigators recovered $1,028 in U.S. currency, a 7.62 caliber rifle, approximately 80 rounds of 7.62 caliber ammunition, and four magazines.

Penman was taken into custody and charged with five different drug trafficking offenses along with tampering with physical evidence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
