HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – In just under two months, Hopkinsville Rotary Club will host their 74th annual auction, their largest event of the year.

The auction will take place April 22-27 at the War Memorial Building. Every night at 6 p.m. items will be auctioned off and awarded to the highest bidder including collectables, getaway experiences, bicycles, and even award winning hams.

This year, Kelly Gates serves as the auction chair and is excited for what’s to come with the auctions name Purposeful Pathways.

“It’s all about funding students’ education at their point of need no matter which path they choose,” Gates said. “Education is so important to economic and workforce development issues.”

In 2023, the Rotary Club raised $520,000, and in 2022 they raised more than $530,000. The funds raised go directly back into the community in different places. Kelly said she hasn’t set a fundraising goal for this year but knows the community is always so generous. “We have 74 years of trust with this community,” Gates said. “The goal is to be good stewards of it and show the community where their money is going.”

For those who are unable to donate monetarily, Kelly explains there are a lot of different ways to support the cause.

“The most important thing one can do is help spread the word,” Gates said.
