HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This Christmas, The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville is opening its doors, and its table, to the community with its “Don’t Be Alone on Christmas” celebration.

On Christmas Day, Lt. David Donegan and Lt. Brittney Donegan, along with their children Tara and Ryan, warmly invite anyone who may be feeling lonely, struggling, or simply in need of fellowship to join them for Christmas lunch at 313 East Seventh Street, in the Salvation Army Dining Hall between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Beloved community cook Ms. Sheila Croney will be preparing all the classic Christmas favorites, creating a meal that feels like home, according to a news release. Following lunch, people are invited across the street to the Worship Center for a special Christmas service led by Lt. David and Lt. Brittney. All are welcome, no registration required.

“For many, Christmas is a beautiful season,” said Lt. David Donegan. “But for others, it can be one of the loneliest times of the year, marked by loss, depression, or isolation. This day is about making sure no one has to be alone.”

Lt. Brittney Donegan added, “This isn’t just a meal or a service, it’s an invitation to belong. We want people to know there’s a seat waiting for them.”
