HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – There are many ways to welcome in the New Year, including celebrating around town or enjoying a night at home with fireworks. In Hopkinsville, two local businesses are inviting the community to celebrate the arrival of 2025.

Casey Jones Distillery, located at 2815 Witty Lane, will host their annual Spirited New Year event including a barrel drop on Monday, Dec. 30 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Guests can expect live music and a food truck on site.

At Hopkinsville Brewing Company this week, the festivities will kick off at noon on Dec. 31 for New Beer’s Eve with games, and food throughout the day. A ball will drop at 8 p.m. allowing plenty of time to either head to bed or head to another party.

New Years fireworks policy

New Years and Fourth of July are the two holidays where fireworks are permitted within city limits. On Dec. 31, fireworks can start as early as 10 a.m. and are permitted to occur through 12:30 a.m.

The City of Hopkinsville website lists regulations and safety reminders including not igniting fireworks on public property or within 200 feet of any structure, vehicle or person. Failure to adhere to the local ordinance may result in fines up to $1000 and imprisonment up to 30 days.
