HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville woman was arrested on Dec. 9 after leading police on a high-speed chase and crashing into a house on South Virginia Street.
A report from Hopkinsville Police says officers attempted to stop the suspect on East 18th Street after she was caught travelling 39 miles per hour in a 25 miles per hour zone. She then began to flee at 70 miles per hour, disregarding stop signs and coming close to crashing into other vehicles.
During the chase, she drove through a yard and then through a brick wall onto Hetsley Eye Care’s property. Afterwards, the suspect struck her vehicle into a house and continued the chase on foot.
After being tased by officers twice, the suspect was taken into custody. She admitted to drinking alcohol and using cocaine and drugs before the pursuit, according to police. She was arrested and charged with speeding, disregarding stop signs, first-degree fleeing or evading police, improperly on left side of the road, DUI, resisting arrest, and reckless driving.
