HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The community is invited to come out in their costumes for another year of trick or treating in downtown Hopkinsville, where dozens of vendors line South Main Street on Halloween. Starting at 3:30 p.m., participating organizations and merchants will be passing out candy and goodies until 5:30 p.m. in a safe environment for families.

This year will have a “No-Scare Square” at Founder’s Square to provide a calm, safe environment for children and families, particularly those who may feel overwhelmed by the typical Halloween festivities. The area will be designed to offer de-escalation, relaxation, and community resources to support mental and emotional well-being.

Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation is encouraging adults to accompany children under the age of 13, reminding families that trick or treat bags will not be provided. During the event, there will be no parking or traffic permitted on South Main Street between Seventh and 13th Street.

Vendors looking to participate and pass out candy this year can contact the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department at 270-887-4290.
