Updated 6 p.m.: The Hopkinsville Police Department informed Christian County Now that their investigation and autopsy have determined no foul play is suspected with the death of the individual.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On Aug. 16, a dead body was discovered on North Main Street near Riverside Cemetery.
Hopkinsville Police Department was contacted by an employee of a local store when a person noticed a strong smell near a dumpster around 8:30 p.m. on Friday. They walked around the nearby business and found the corpse on the ground, according to HPD.
A death investigation and autopsy are still underway to determine the cause of death. Details about the identity of the deceased person have not been released at this time.
