HOPKINSVILLE KY, (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation has revealed this year’s Hoptown Half Marathon and 5k medal design.
Last year’s design included a stack of pancakes, loaded with syrup and melted butter. Sticking to the breakfast food theme, and in reference to the “Batter Capital of the World”, this year’s design features a four-inch medal in the shape of a waffle iron with a surprise PVC insert inside.
The Hoptown Half Marathon will take place on Oct. 21, 2023 at 8 a.m. The race will begin at 706 S. Main Street, in front of the Municipal Building in downtown Hopkinsville.
The half marathon is $79 to register while the 5k is $50. Price increases after Sept. 30. The event will also include a virtual marathon and 5k as well as a one mile youth challenge.
