HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Kids were able to beat the heat with Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation on Tuesday. As temperatures peaked at 92 degrees, the Hopkinsville Fire Department extended their ladder on a firetruck to spray a hose on the basketball court at Joe Mumford Park.

“Our people enjoy this event every year,” Payton Rogers with HFD previously told Christian County Now. “It’s somewhat a break for them, and they get to connect with the community in a unique way.”
Tuesday was just the beginning, they will set up again throughout the summer at Joe Mumford Park on July 16, and 30, and at the Hopkinsville Boys & Girls Club July 9 and 23. Each hosedown is free, and will start at 1:30 p.m. ending at 2:30 p.m.
