HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was arrested for disorderly conduct over the weekend after police were advised he may have been involved in a shooting.

The shooting in question occurred on May 22 at James Village Apartments on East 21 Street where a residence was struck with gunfire. The following morning, a person that had been in the area when the shots were fired advised that a man suspected of firing the gun was walking down Fort Campbell Boulevard, according to an arrest report.

Officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department located the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Deovion Day of Cadiz, and contact was made near the Bluegrass Cash Express. According to HPD, the suspect was yelling in a “hostile intent” in a public setting with multiple citizens around.

HPD says the suspect refused to stop yelling and was boasting about beating murder charges in Hopkinsville that he is actively in trial for. He told officers he would “beat these charges too” while walking up to officers faces in a threatening manner.

He was arrested and taken to the Christian County Jail. He is currently not facing any charges related to the shots fired and is instead being charged with disorderly conduct and menacing.
