HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Police Department is currently investigating reports involving juveniles and the illegal use of artificial intelligence.
On Feb. 18, officers received reports that inappropriate AI generated images were allegedly generated and in circulation among students in Christian County, according to HPD.
“The allegations are under investigation and to protect that process along with any victims that may be involved; we cannot comment any further,” HPD Public Information Officer Justin Rios told Christian County Now. “The safety of the students in our community remain a top priority and we continue to work with our partners at CCPS/CCPS Police to ensure they have a safe environment to learn.”
Police Chief Jason Newby addressed these claims during a livestream on Feb. 23, where he asked parents to monitor the phones and social media profiles of their children to prevent them from engaging in illegal activities such as this.
