HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hundreds of arrests, a dozen of which who are juveniles, have been made by the Hopkinsville Police Department from July through September. In addition, officers took over two dozen guns off the streets as well as a couple of pounds of meth.
“It’s not just specific wards, it’s all over the city,” said Police Chief Jason Newby during the Oct. 23 Committee of the Whole meeting. He presented a quarterly report for HPD revealing that a total of 622 arrests were made over a three-month span ending with October, with 10,871 calls for service. The following map shows the distribution of arrests throughout Hopkinsville.

During this time period, there were also 229 vehicle collisions within the city. He said these are distributed throughout the area, with several wrecks focused along U.S. 41A, the Eagle Way Bypass, Highway 107 and on North Drive/Seventh Street. Aside from wrecks, 252 traffic citations were issued by officers.
