The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County hosted its 49th Annual Unity Breakfast on Thursday.
HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County hosted its 49th annual Unity Breakfast on Thursday. More than 600 guests were in attendance at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.
“Unarmed Truth and Unconditional Love,” was the theme for this year’s Unity Breakfast. Raychel Farmer, Executive Director for the agency, said that Hopkinsville Christian County is one of the most diverse communities in Kentucky.

“We’re just trying to bring people together from all aspects of life to show that we are a very diverse community. To bring everyone together, highlight different backgrounds, ideas, different beliefs, and celebrate all the good that’s being done in our community,” Farmer said.
A number of awards were presented at the breakfast by the Hopkinsville Christian County Human Rights Commission, the Human Rights City of Compassion Committee and the City of Hopkinsville.
The HRC City of Compassion Committed presented an award for volunteer of the year to Mindy Hargrove.
