OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee hosted Hams for Heroes Thursday at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel. Over 500 hams were handed out to active-duty military.
Shannon Lane, Director of Military Affairs with the MAC told Christian County Now that before the event even started, they had two lines of cars waiting for their Easter ham. “We gave away a hundred hams before 1 p.m.,” Lane said. “It’s been amazing.”

To make sure younger soldiers were prioritized MAC asked that higher ranked soldiers and veterans wait until later in the afternoon to grab a ham.
