Jean C. Spriggs of Hopkinsville, KY passed away on November 18, 2024, with members of her loving family beside her. She was 97 years old.
Jean was born in Barnett, England on November 12, 1927, to Leslie and Florence Rye. Jean grew up in London, survived the German bombing blitz, spending many nights in a bomb shelter. She met the love of her life, Frank, but had to wait two years to get married as he was in a German POW Camp. After his release, they had a double marriage ceremony with his brother. Subsequently they immigrated to Hamilton, Canada and then to Buffalo, New York. Their next move took the family to Cleveland, Ohio and onto Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years in 1995, her parents, her sister and her grandson, Matthew Wagoner. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Wagoner (Terry) and Jacki Pirrone (Jim), grandchildren, Cameron Wagoner, Jamie Hillerich and Jessie Bernes, and eight great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time, per her request.
A Family ceremony will be held at a later date.
