HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Two teenagers were arrested Wednesday evening in Hopkinsville after police initiated a pursuit regarding a stolen scooter.
Around 4:30 p.m. on May 6, an arrest report from HPD says a detective conducted a traffic stop on a juvenile who was believed to be operating a stolen scooter. During the interaction, the juvenile fled on foot and was observed entering an apartment on Denzil Drive.
According to HPD, officers announced themselves at the apartment and ordered any occupant to open the door, with no response. The apartment manager eventually provided a key, and officers entered the apartment after additional announcements.
Upon entering, officers located an 18-year-old woman inside the bathroom. She told officers that her boyfriend had entered the apartment and told her that police were chasing him. She looked out of the window and saw officers before remaining inside the bathroom with the door shut. As a result, she was placed under arrest and was charged with hindering apprehension of a suspect.
The initial juvenile suspect was located in the attic of the apartment and was taken into custody.
