CLARKSVILLE, TN (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Colonels visited “The Castle” at Kenwood High School for a matchup with the Knights on Saturday. It was a back-and-forth battle in the first half, but Kenwood exploded for 51 points in the second half for a 79-47 victory.

Early on, both teams traded blows, with neither team leading by more than 9 through the first two quarters, and Kenwood leading 28-21 at the half.

Christian County head coach Kerry Stovall said experience is something his guys are learning and growing from, being a younger team.

“We have a young squad,” said Stovall. “We’re gaining experience, and Kenwood shot the ball well and played hard for each other. That’s where we are trying to get, we just have to keep learning and growing.”

In the second half, the Knights turned up the pace of play and were ultra aggressive on the defensive end, leading to many transition buckets, and the Knights grabbed the momentum. Kenwood turned a close game into a rout.

Knights head coach Chase Cronin said the effort on the defensive side of the floor was a key to pulling the win out. “Our group had great defensive energy,” said Cronin. “All of my guys have good offensive energy, but when we start to really lock it down on the defensive end, we can create a gap between us and other teams.”
