Kevin McGinness, age 58 of Russellville, Kentucky, passed away on September 28th at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky of natural causes.

Kevin was born February 6, 1966, in Charleston, Illinois the son of the late Larry and Leslee Lance McGinness.

Kevin lived a life filled with adventure, passion, and the kind of spirit that could never be tamed. A true free spirit, Kevin was an adrenaline junky who embraced life to the fullest. He found joy in riding motorcycles, especially his beloved fire engine red Kawasaki Eliminator. He loved the rock group KISS and one of his most cherished memories was taking his only daughter to see them live for her first concert. He was a die-hard Raiders fan, and he enjoyed cheering for his team. He could often be found watching custom car and motorcycle shows getting lost in the thrill of the automotive world. He enjoyed being a member of the Elks Lodge in Charleston as well as being a great chef at the Café Alexander and the Eagles and Elks Clubs.

Kevin graduated from Charleston High School as part of the Class of 1984 and attended Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois and Le Cordon Blue College of Culinary Arts in Chicago, Illinois. Friends remember him as a remarkable individual, exuding the coolness of Fonzy paired with the kindness of a saint. He became a husband and dad on December 22, 2000. His infectious laughter and generous heart touched many lives, and he created lasting relationships during his years at the RR Donnelley manufacturing plant.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two brothers, Lance McGinness (Vicki) and Tim McGinness (Debbie); his lifelong friend and ex-wife, Sara Potter; his daughter, Kyrie Carf (Alan) and his four cherished grandchildren, Edwin C. Tristan, Kaydin I. Tristan, Kitara A. Carf and Evangeline A. Carf.

Kevin will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was both a wild man and a family man, a joker, a smoker and a midnight toker. As he rides off on his motorcycle into the sunset, his legacy of love, laughter and a zest for life will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He didn’t want his loved ones to mourn at his funeral instead he wished for them to raise a glass and toast him as he rides his motorcycle along those heavenly highways.
