HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – In an effort to raise funds for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers upcoming season, the team will go head-to-head with the Hopkinsville Police Department in a friendly game.
The game will be July 19 at 6 p.m. at the Hopkinsville High School gymnasium. Admission for the game is free, but donations of any amount will be accepted. The goal of the game is to raise money to help fulfill the teams needs and prepare them for a successful season.
“Coach Leslie and School Resource Officer Cory Smith came up with the idea to have this fundraiser basketball game to not only support the Lady Tigers but to have a positive community event where officers and students can engage in some friendly competition,” said Royale Marfil with HPD.
The team playing for the department will be spending the days leading up to Friday night prepping for the game and going over drills during spare moments. With a couple HHS alumni on the force, officers are excited for the chance to engage with the community and school during the game.
