HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Crowds gathered this past weekend on Sept. 9-10 at the Trail of Tears Commemorative Park for the 36th Annual Pow Wow. The event featured raffles, crafts, and face painting. People could also taste a variety of traditional foods like fry bread, Indian tacos, and buffalo burgers. Native and local vendors were also there selling handmade items.

The gathering was open to the public and draws in members of the community every year. The main event was the dance competition, where people 5 years-old and up could enter for a chance to win with cash prizes. Traditional drumming and music accompanied the dancing.
