HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – In a continued effort to bring more events and activities to downtown Hopkinsville, the community can gather at Founders Square this Labor Day weekend for a concert, dancing, and local eats.

The new Hoptown at Night event will be Aug. 30 at 6 p.m., featuring live music from Soul in the Pocket, beats by DJ Prep, and community favorite food trucks. People are also encouraged to bring their cowboy boots and fans for some line dancing

City Councilmember Vance Smith shared that people will have the chance to “out dance” Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight. The band Soul in the Pocket will be the headlining performance. This event could possibly be the first of many in a series of Hoptown at Night events in the future.

This event is taking place within the Downtown Entertainment District, which allows people in the designated area to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating businesses downtown and walk around to other district businesses and in Founders Square.
