CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A locally owned fertilizer company will establish their facility at Hopkinsville’s Industrial Park, investing $2.9 million in development. Owned by David Barbee, Genuine Fertilizer Solutions represents another innovative, vertically integrated agriculture opportunity for the entire South Western Kentucky region.

In a news release, the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council announced that Genuine Fertilizer Solutions, L.L.C. will be creating 10-15 new, high paying agriculture jobs once they are established. They will manufacture a new liquid solution fertilizer.

“I am thankful for the state and local support and look forward to establishing this innovative fertilizer solution company as one of the best in the nation,” Barbee stated. “With hard work and good fortune, we hope to exceed all expectations in our incredible region.”

Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam and Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight also praised the development, sharing that it will make a positive impact on ag businesses for years to come. No information about a groundbreaking or timeline for construction has been announced at this time.
