HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Pennyrile Area Community Band will be ringing in the holiday season with their annual Christmas concert on Dec. 6 in Hopkinsville.
The band is a nonprofit comprised of passionate professional and hobby musicians from the area of all ages. Comprised of band directors, students, and former band members, the group meets on a regular basis to bring their talents together and prepare for free performances while enjoying a creative outlet.
The group began as a musical outreach program in 2017, and their complete vision came to life a year later when the band was formed. There are upwards of 50 members in the band, with the perfect blend of instruments to create a balanced concert full of holiday favorites.
This year’s concert will be at the Performing Arts Center in Christian County Middle School at 6 p.m. on Dec. 6. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public. Donations to help fund the band and allow the purchase of equipment, music, and instruments will be accepted at the door, but are not required.
