HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Locally owned by Zachary Taylor and Devon Morris, Fan Favs Card Shop is now open in Hopkinsville. The new store fuses together their passion for cards, with the hope of welcoming in other collectors from the community.

“We want people to be able to come in here and relax and be a kid again,” Morris told Christian County Now. Prior to meeting, both owners had a passion for collecting, frequently attending shows and conventions to buy and sell cards of all types. Their store on Fort Campbell Boulevard caters to all card fans, with a wide range of merchandise available for both sports and Pokémon card collectors.

“We’re in it for the long haul,” said Taylor. “This has been a dream of his and mine separately and it just kind of came together.” He added that he remembers always being a collector, specifically of coins and arrowheads when he was younger. His interest peaked while he was active duty stationed in Germany where in an attempt to combat homesickness, he started collecting American sports cards. Later, inspired by his son’s interest in Pokémon, his collections expanded over time.

Morris reminisced on starting his collection when he was around 10 years old, being drawn in by his experience playing sports. Although his interest dwindled as he got older, he said collecting surged in popularity in the middle of the pandemic and drew him back in. “Now it’s like the stock market, people are just trading assets.”

Although the store is niche, they are hoping to become a community hub for all range of interests. Cards for trading, playing, and collecting are available at the store, which is a “clutter free zone” to maximize the shopping experience. Other items like binders and card sleeves can also be found there with a laid-back comfortable environment to hang out with other patrons.
