Lucille Shanklin Russell, 93, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 9:52 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Stokes to officiate. Burial will follow in New Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Christian County, KY she was born February 18, 1931 the daughter of the late Marion Shanklin and Thelma Elizabeth Hayes Shanklin. She worked at Thomas Industries. She was a member of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Malcolm McGhee Russell; her sisters: Edna Stagner and Dorothy Voyles; her brothers: Clarence Shanklin, Randolph Shanklin, Ralph Shanklin, and Roy Shanklin; and her grandson: Jacob Russell.
Survivors include her sons: Steven Russell and David (Vicki) Russell both of Hopkinsville, KY and Ray Russell of Elizabethtown, KY; her brother: Howard (Ina) Shanklin of Hopkinsville, KY; her grandchildren: Benjamin (Alicia) Russell and Jessica Russo; and her great grandchildren: Bellamy, Ada Cate, and Mickey.
