CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A woman was shot and killed during a domestic violence incident on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road Sunday night.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 6000 block of Pembroke-Oak Grove Road after receiving a report of a possible domestic disturbance. The caller advised that gunshots had been heard, according to a news release from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, deputies found the 35-year-old suspect, Anthony Moore, sitting on the front porch of the residence and he was immediately detained. Deputies discovered the body of 31-year-old Cicara C. James inside the home with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Authorities confirmed that Moore and James shared the residence and had children in common.

Hopkinsville EMS remained on the scene after the incident, with their chaplains assisting law enforcement and the family of the deceased.

Moore later admitted to the fatal shooting to deputies. He was arrested and placed in Christian County Jail and is facing a domestic violence murder charge, along with wanton endangerment for discharging a firearm. According to the booking log, he is not eligible for bond at this time.
