HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Oct. 16 after a woman said she was assaulted in a car by her boyfriend, according to a press release.
When deputies arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene. According to the victim, while they were driving, the man grabbed her by her hair and told her he would cause them to wreck and kill them both. When the victim arrived home, the man fled out the back door and rain into the woods behind the house.
While deputies searched the residence, the suspect allegedly called 911 to report that a home invasion had occurred at his own residence, possibly in an attempt to lure officers away from the scene. The call proved to be false.
A K9 unit was called in to assist in the search. The man was spotted in the wood line and taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with assault fourth-degree (domestic), falsely reporting an incident to law enforcement, fleeing or evading police on foot, and terroristic threating. He was booked into the Christian County Jail.
