HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 25-year-old man chased several Metalsa employees with a rubber mallet, striking a woman in the head, after getting into a verbal altercation with a supervisor.
Officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department arrived at 301 Bill Bryan Boulevard on Nov. 22 around 10 p.m. after receiving a call about a disturbance. The suspect had fled from the building prior to their arrival, and K9 units attempted to locate him.
A Metalsa supervisor told officers that the suspect had assaulted him after an argument. While attempting to contact security, the suspect ripped off the supervisor’s radio that was attached to his shoulder.
According to a police report, the suspect then grabbed a rubber mallet and started chasing several employees, eventually striking a female employee in the head with the mallet and kicking her.
About an hour later, the suspect was located hiding inside a container near the front of the building, he made no statement to officers at the time. He is facing two assault charges and was arrested by HPD.
