HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 22-year-old man threating to kill people with a BB gun on North Kentucky Avenue was arrested and charged Wednesday evening.
A witness told Hopkinsville Police the man was outside pointing a gun at two people. According to the victims, they were walking by the suspects home when an argument started with them and the suspects brother who was outside. The suspect ran out of the home with the gun and threatened to shoot them, said the police report. There were numerous people on the street during the altercation.
A witness on the scene told police she believed it was a real gun, so she retrieved her own firearm to defend the victims and herself. When police arrived, officers found the suspect bent over the trunk of a vehicle with the gun visible in the small of his back. A black BB gun, modeled after a Sig Sauer P226 was discovered.
The suspect is being charged with wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening, and disorderly conduct.
