PEMBROKE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man died after being run over multiple times by a woman at an apartment parking lot early Saturday morning.

At about 2:09 a.m., the Christian County Sheriff’s Office was called about a pedestrian being hit by a car in Willows Apartment complex in Pembroke, according to a news release from CCSO spokesman Chris Miller.

The caller reported that the vehicle, described as a black car, had left the scene. Through investigation, detectives determined that the driver, 33-year-old Eiesha B. Whitlock of Hopkinsville, had run over the man and left the scene, Miller said. Detectives located and detained Whitlock a few hours later in Hopkinsville.

During an interview, Whitlock admitted to striking 29-year-old Daquan T. Butler of Pembroke with her car, becoming aware that he was trapped underneath, and then backing up, driving over him again before driving away. Whitlock said she left the scene because she was scared.

Butler succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at Jennie Stuart Medical Center by the Christian County coroner. The vehicle driven by Whitlock was seized as evidence. Whitlock has been charged with:

  • Manslaughter second degree
  • Leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance

Whitlock was transported to the Christian County Jail. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hopkinsville/Christian County Fire Department, the Hopkinsville Police Department and the Christian County Coroner’s Office.
