Updated 11:11 a.m.: The victim of the shooting has been identified by the Christian County Coroner as 37-year-old Dmytro Serbeniuk from Des Plaines, Illinois.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was shot and killed at the Pilot Travel Center in Oak Grove on Saturday, law enforcement is still trying to locate a suspect.

The Oak Grove Police Department responded to a call for shots fired just after midnight on Dec. 28 at the gas station on Pembroke Oak Grove Road. The victim was found in the parking lot and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detective Carter with the police department told Christian County Now that the motive for the murder is unclear at this time, and it is an ongoing investigation. The victim has been identified, but the name has not been released to the public.

While the department has undisclosed persons of interest, the suspect is unknown, and no arrests have been made. According to OGPD, this was an isolated event. If anyone has any information pertaining to this case, please contact the Oak Grove Police Department at 270-439-4602.
